I'll start with the positive. Antoine, our server, was wonderful. The front desk was wonderful. Even sat us earlier than our designated reservation.

Now the not so good parts. When we sat down, I noticed my napkin had maybe 5 ants crawling on it. Throughout the dinner, sporadic ants would crawl either on the plates or I would feel one on my arm.

We ordered calamari for an appetizer. When it eventually arrived, it was soggy. Think what day old french fries reheated in a microwave. Thats the consistency the calamari was like. Zero crispy texture.

It took 1 hr from ordering, for our dinner to arrive. The plates were the only thing hot. My wife got a NY Steak and I ordered a Filet Mignon. Both cooked for Medium. Only hers was medium, mine was nearly well done. Both steaks dry like eating a biscuit with no drink.

You are better off eating at the other establishments. For the price you pay, this was sloppy overall.

Was there for a birthday dinner reserved thru opentable. When we checked in, they said the system was not blocked for the private party they were holding. As much we couldn't eat at the restaurant even though we had a reservation for days in advance. How the restaurant could overlook this is surprising. Additionally there eas no attempt to make things right other than saying there were other restaurants. Even though there was no find dining equivalent.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and special. The Managers Christina and Alan were warm and went above and beyond to ensure the night was extraordinary. Our waitress, Janine, was attentive and delightful, and Chef Greg’s visit to our table added a personal, fun touch.
A highlight was choosing our own Buck steak knives from a presented box. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, and the ambiance ideal for a special occasion.
We had (6) unforgettable dinner experiences.  Two were when they brought out the Birthday Cake Desserts fully loaded with a Sparkler candle.
We had an amazing time and are eager to return.

My wife and I have been coming to Jamul casino to enjoy their gaming machines for a while now. While we usually don't eat here other than maybe a snack or drink from the food court but last night we were both hungry.

The place feels very upscale and the live piano player was a nice touch. The service from the hostess, to wait staff, to buss-boy were all great! The bread and sea-salt butter they bring you is good. We split a wedge salad and I ordered a cup of their butternut squash soup, both were tasty. I spotted a wagyu burger on the menu and sounded good. My wife ordered wagyu Bolognese. When the waitress returned she actually mentioned how good their burger was before I ordered and I commented how that was great because that's what I was going to order.

When the food arrived, it was bland. It was edible, but lacked seasoning. I thought it was just my burger & I didn't say anything. When I asked how her pasta was, my wife said "it's ok" and I had to try it. Same. Lack of seasoning and bland. I don't know if they afraid of spices in the kitchen or what. A shame really because the food quality was there. Beef on the burger was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. It had potential to be great! Pasta was beautiful and perfect presentation as you can see in the pictures, but just nothing there for the taste buds. I will say the parmesan fries that came with the burger were delicious though!

I know… it's a steak house. Maybe we'll have to go back to order a steak, but the couple at the table next to us had to ask for steak sauce after they tried the first few bite and that's never a good sign.

Our main issue was having to walk through the cigarette smoke filled casino to get to the restaurant. Once there the atmosphere cleared. They have a dedicated bar with TV's and you can order food from there. The drinks were ample, innovative and tasty. We sat in the restaurant which is typical of an upscale steakhouse. Very comfortable chairs, interesting decor and lighting. Great views of the valley to the south. The appetizers were great. We had the beet salad and the chowder. My wife had the seabass and it was excellent. I had the porterhouse which was quite thin but possibly the most tender steak I've had recently. The dessert Trolley was extensive and had lots of special treats. We got the chocolate cake which was delicious.
