In the past, they really made birthdays feel special. I’ve celebrated here before and received thoughtful touches like a waffle-style birthday cake, complimentary appetizer courses, and even a celebratory cocktail or champagne. When I brought my mom for her birthday, they went above and beyond and truly made her feel celebrated.
Unfortunately, my experience last night for my own birthday felt very different. There were no special touches, no dessert presentation, and none of the extra effort I’ve experienced in previous years. When I asked the server about the waffle birthday cake, I was told they stopped doing that about six years ago. That was surprising, given that those thoughtful details are part of what made this restaurant stand out to me.
The seating also felt less than ideal for a birthday dinner, and overall the service just didn’t have that same warmth or celebratory energy I’ve come to expect here.
The food and ambiance are still solid, but the experience didn’t feel as special as it once did. I’m hoping this was just an off night, because this place used to truly make celebrations memorable.

What can I say? My experience at Perilla Korean Steakhouse was AAAAAAMAZING!!! I met Jose', who I later found out was the manager on the night prior to my reservation when I ordered an evening snack. I was pleasantly surprised when he stopped by my table to ask about my meal from the previous night. He was courteous and genuinely receptive to the feedback. Great exchange! My snack was good but I couldn't eat it all. My dining experience for the next evening was more than I expected. Christopher was patient with me while I asked 1000 questions and he provided great feedback and recommendations for my meal and drinks. Bethany prepared my marinated short rib to perfection and engaged in pleasantries. Did I mention that their Caesar salad is THE BEST that I've had in my lifetime? Both Christopher and Bethany provided outstanding Service. After dinner, I left for a quick moment and returned for dessert and a night cap at the bar. From my entrance (the woman who seated me) until my departure was a wonderful experience. Great job providing top tier customer service.

Chicago Restaurant Week is coming to an end, so I chose this place to start my weekend. My first time visiting BLVD Steakhouse. The aesthetic is on point, with plenty of picture opportunities. Keep in mind there is a no-flash policy. I wasn’t in the mood for alcohol, so I chose the Golden Glow, from the spirit-free section. It was so good, I ordered two. I ordered strictly from the Restaurant Week menu. My first course was the wedge salad, which was good. For my second course, I chose the upgrade and went with the 8oz filet and 50/50 mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were an 11/10, superb!!!! Now for the steak, I asked for medium-
well cooked. It was more medium. I didn’t care for the char on the outside. Finally, for dessert, the only option offered is the Snickerdoodle cheesecake, topped with pear and honey. I’m not a fan of pear, but the cheesecake was good.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and we chose it to celebrate my husband’s birthday dinner. I was extremely happy with how everything turned out. The vibes were incredible—it truly felt like being transported to Italy and France, especially with the live music. The ambiance was absolutely perfect.

The food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent from start to finish. Everything about the experience felt thoughtful and luxurious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special night out.
This is a 10 out of 10 for me. I would definitely advise couples, friends, and families to come together and experience the luxury, old-vintage restaurant feeling for themselves.
Walking in, we were seated in a corner rather than in the main dining area. We asked to be moved since, for us, dining out is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the food. The only alternative was a table in the bar area, so we went

On the positive side, the service was genuinely great. The food itself wasn’t bad, but in a city with so many outstanding Italian and steakhouse options, it just felt very average. Overall, the experience was just ok, and for the price we paid, the quality of the food didn’t quite measure up. The steak was good but not exceptional, and the pastas were fine, though nothing stood out. The one dish we truly enjoyed was the octopus carpaccio, which was excellent.
Overall, the restaurant was okay, but there wasn’t anything compelling enough to bring us back.

I found it odd they dont have valet but they do have a garage right around the corner where they park your car for you. The ambiance is nice but where we were seated was strange bc there was a mirror right in front of the booth of the middle section. The food was great. They come and prepare the meat for you where's the sister restaurant you do it yourself. Guess it depends what you want to do bc feels strange uokeeping a conversation and eating as someone is right in front of you making the steaks. The soonduhn soup was great for being out in the cold. The accompaniments were perfect and flavorful. The glass noodles was probably one of my favorites.
